Sacred Heart& Most Holy Sacrament
The Catholic Community of Hornsea, MArton and surrounding villages.
When Bishop George Brunner laid the foundation stone of the present building of the Sacred Heart Church on 26th April 1956 we are sure he pondered over what would the future hold for the community of the Sacred Heart in Hornsea.
Sixty-two years later we too still ponder the future but try to keep rooted in the present moment as there is always something to be starting, something to finish off and something to carry on with.
This community has always been a community of change. Sitting on the coast, not a great distance from the sea, in still moments one can hear the sound of the waves crashing on the shore line. The high and low tides, the seasons, the coming and going of day trippers are part of life in Hornsea. We, as a community, give thanks for the variety of life that God pours into our laps and we ask of Him the grace to continue to grow as a people ‘after His Own Heart.’
Our priest is Canon David Grant who also looks after Saint John of Beverley Church in Beverley.
